• Erin Hunter is a 2026 5 Under 40 Winner (nehomemag.com) — Stoneham architect Erin Hunter, cofounder of Studio Hearth Architecture + Design and a Stoneham resident, has been named a 2026 "5 Under 40" award winner. Her firm, based in town, focuses on welcoming, energy-efficient homes, and she'll be honored at a Boston ceremony on September 17 that also raises funds for an Afghan girls' leadership school.

• Winchester looking at taking 13.7 acres near Stoneham line, Fells (homenewshere.com) — Winchester officials are again weighing whether to acquire 13.7 acres of open space along the Stoneham line and Middlesex Fells, a parcel that includes land inside Stoneham which cannot be taken by eminent domain. The town is pursuing state and federal grants, plus an earmark specifically for the Stoneham portion, to reduce bonding costs as they debate using eminent domain to block potential private development and preserve trails, wetlands, and habitat.

• The names of 9/11 victims with ties to Massachusetts (bostonglobe.com) — A statewide remembrance of 9/11 victims includes people from many Massachusetts communities, including one identified as a 48-year-old founder from Stoneham. The list, compiled by the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, briefly notes each person's hometown and role, offering residents a solemn way to recognize neighbors and nearby communities who were lost.
