Alleged Stoughton CVS Shooter Faces Weapons, Rape Charges from Another Case
Marcus Pierre-Louis was at some points, combative during his arraignment in Stoughton District Court.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man accused of shooting a person inside a CVS now faces child rape charges in addition to the charges from the incident inside the pharmacy.
Marcus Pierre-Louis, 23, was arraigned in Stoughton District Court Tuesday on two cases. He is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, assault with intent to kill, carrying a firearm without a license, and conspiracy in the shooting case. He also faces child rape charges in a second, unrelated case.
At times, Pierre-Louis was combative with officers before and during his arraignment, screaming that he wasn’t going to enter the courtroom and yelling profanities after apparently seeing a photographer’s camera. When officers restrained him and Judge Richard Savignano ordered him to calm down, Pierre-Louis replied “I just can't wait to get out. I'm going to put Stoughton on the map.”

He was ordered held on $250,000 cash bail for the shooting case and $25,000 for the rape case, as requested by the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office. Assistant Attorney General Erin Murphy said in court that the request was increased due to the outburst.
Pierre-Louis is charged with being the gunman in an altercation that took place at the Central Street CVS on Sept. 22 at about 4 p.m. According to a police report, Pierre-Louis and two minors allegedly followed two people into the store with the intent of provoking an altercation. During the incident, Pierre-Louis allegedly took out a gun and shot the victim in the shoulder. The person who was shot was taken to a hospital in Brockton and the slug in his shoulder was removed. Witnesses and surveillance footage confirmed the incident and the presence of a weapon.

After the shooting, the three suspects fled south. Police say the vehicle at Pierre-Louis' home matched the vehicle at the scene.
At 1:06 a.m. early Friday, police entered the home of Pierre-Louis, who was not home. His brother told police that he was involved in an argument on the access road between Stoughton High School and O’Donnell Middle School. Afterwards, the brother called Pierre-Louis, who agreed to meet them at CVS. The brother said they intended on provoking an altercation with two people involved in the argument, but things out of control with the gunshots.
Clothes at the home also matched those worn by the suspects on video footage, police said.
The two minors were arrested on Sept. 23. Pierre-Louis was arrested on Sept. 26 at a residence in Dorchester. He was arraigned the next day in Dorchester District Court on separate case in Boston for possession of a firearm without a permit.
Prior to his arrest, Pierre-Louis taunted Stoughton police on their Facebook page, writing that he'll turn himself in when he's ready.
In his second arraignment of the day, prosecutors say Pierre-Louis allegedly raped a close family friend while she was between the ages of 8-14. When it started, he was 15 years old and he allegedly penetrated her when she was in seventh grade and he was 21, prosecutors said.
The victim, now 16 years old, disclosed the abuse in a school assignment. Prosecutors say the abuse happened while Pierre-Louis was in a babysitter-like role. She also said he inappropriately touched a female family member, but that person has not come forward with any accusations.
If Pierre-Louis posts bail, he will be subjected to GPS monitoring, won’t be allowed to possess firearms, have no unsupervised contact with anyone 16 years old or younger and must stay away from the victims in both cases and the Central Street CVS.
Pierre-Louis’s defense attorney requested the conditions and his release on personal recognizance, telling the judge that because he has no income and no way to pay for bail, ordering any bail would be the same as being held without bail.
Pierre-Louis is due back in court on Nov. 4 for a probable cause hearing for both cases.
