STOUGHTON, MA — One lucky lottery player in Stoughton won a large lottery prize this week.
A lottery ticket worth $100,000 was sold at J & I Variety at 742 Washington St. in Stoughton on Monday. The prize was won from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "Mass Cash" game.
To win, a player must match three or more of their five chosen numbers to the numbers drawn. If a player matches all five numbers, they win the game's top prize of $100,000.
The probability of winning a prize that large in Mass Cash is one in 324,632, according to the State Lottery. Mass Cash drawings occur daily.
The state lottery commission did not share who won the prize, but retailers that sell a winning ticket typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.
Two other winning lottery tickets were purchased in Stoughton this week. A $900 prize was sold at Stoughton Town Spa and a $1,000 prize was sold at New Store On The Block on Wednesday.
