• Stoughton Joins Growing List Of MA Communities Canceling Flock Contracts (patch.com) — Stoughton residents will see Flock license plate cameras coming down after police, responding to community concerns, canceled the department's contract and cut off all data access and sharing. Local officials say public trust and transparency outweighed the technology's investigative benefits, and any future surveillance tools will be reviewed and discussed with the Select Board and residents.
   

• Stoughton School Shelters In Place During Police Response (patch.com) — A disturbance near Franklin Street in Stoughton led police to briefly place a nearby school in a shelter-in-place status while officers investigated. The situation was quickly resolved with one arrest on an outstanding warrant, and police emphasized there was no ongoing threat while reaffirming their commitment to school and neighborhood safety.
   

• Westwood Resident Pleads Guilty to Paying Employees 'Under the Table' (town.news) — A restaurant operator who runs Amelia's in Stoughton has pleaded guilty to paying employees in cash and failing to turn over more than $580,000 in employment taxes. Local diners and workers may recognize the business, as the owner now faces possible prison time, fines, and restitution when he is sentenced in December.
