• Tiny Kitten Found Moving Inside a Trash Bag Is Rescued From a Fire Station Dumpster (greatergood.com) — Firefighters at Stoughton's Station 2 turned a routine trash run into a lifesaving moment when they discovered a tiny kitten moving inside a trash bag in the station's dumpster. After carefully rescuing and warming the kitten, they arranged a permanent home with a local family, and the now-named Meeko regularly visits the firefighters' training center, keeping this Stoughton rescue story close to home.
• Jury selection ongoing in Matthew Farwell's murder trial (wpri.com) — Jury selection is underway in Boston for the federal trial of former Stoughton police officer Matthew Farwell, charged in connection with the 2021 death of Canton resident Sandra Birchmore and her unborn child. The case focuses heavily on Farwell's prior mentoring of Birchmore through the now-disbanded Stoughton Police youth explorers program and on whether her death was staged to look like a suicide.
