Woman Charged with 2nd OUI Says There Was No Harm in Her Action

STOUGHTON, MA - A Braintree woman accused of driving on the wrong side of the road while drunk allegedly told police that she didn't do anything wrong because no one got hurt.

Christa Hewson, 26, was arrested Monday night charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, second offense drugged driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, and making an improper left turn, according to the Stoughton Police Log.

Monday night, an officer noticed Hewson allegedly take an illegal left turn before driving south in the north lane of Route 138. After police pulled the vehicle over, they could smell a strong odor of alcohol and Hewson had glassy eyes and slurred speech.

While not denying drinking, she said she didn't see the harm in driving while under the influence of alcohol because she didn't hit anyone, according to the Enterprise.

Hewson was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test.
