As Brockton Casino Vote Nears, Stoughton Watches

Brockton residents will have their say on a proposed casino and hotel development on May 12.

As Brockton prepares to vote on a referendum on a proposed casino in May, surrounding towns like Stoughton are watching what the result will be.

Stoughton Selectmen chairman Joseph Mokrisky told the Boston Globe that the town would like to wait until Brockton votes before discussing the impacts that may affect Stoughton.

At stake in the May 12 vote is a $650 million development on Route 123 at the Brockton Fairgrounds. The proposal includes a casino, event space, stores, and a hotel with at least 250 rooms.
