Canton Fatal Crash: Stoughton Police Sergeant Behind The Wheel
A new report says the driver of a fatal crash in Canton works for the Stoughton Police Department.

STOUGHTON, MA — A member of the Stoughton Police Department was the driver of a crash in Canton over the weekend that left one person dead.
The Enterprise reports that Sgt. Paul Williams was behind the wheel of the GMC Sierra that killed 74-year-old Ralph Hawkins of Canton.
State Police said Ralph Hawkins was standing outside 147 High St. around 11:30 a.m. when a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup truck drove off the road and hit him. Hawkins was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.

Stoughton Police declined to comment on Williams and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office has not released the name of the driver but confirmed it was an off-duty police officer for a neighboring town.
No charges have been filed.
