As Heffernan explains, each year the founders of Dance 2 Save, Judy McDonough and Erika Reichert, strive to raise money for a charitable organization. In the past, the organizations have included Habitat for Humanity, Hope for Haiti and Nothing But Nets, but this year, the group is fundraising for, Cradles to Crayons.
Cradles to Crayons, founded in 2002, “strives to provide children up to age 12 living in homeless and low-income situations with the essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn, and valued,” according to the organization’s website.
Heffernan said Dance 2 Save has performed at a Celtics game this past January, but the big fundraiser is the recital. All the proceeds from the show will be donated to Cradles to Crayons.
