Deadline Nears to Sign Up for Superintendent's District Council

Superintendent Maggie Rizzi is inviting community members to offer input during periodic meetings.

Stoughton Public Schools Superintendent Maggie Rizzi is inviting interested parents, school staff members and members of the community to share their input on “some important issues facing the school district in the upcoming next few years.”

According to a letter from Rizzi posted on the school’s website, she is seeking to create a district-level school council similar to those already established by principals at the individual schools. Anyone interested in participating should email Mary Shea at m_shea@stoughtonschools.org before Friday, Nov. 14.

Rizzi said she intends for the council to discuss matters such as the extended school day initiative, one-to-one devices for students, plans for a new high school and the overall betterment of the district. There will be up to three meetings a year and no obligations outside those meetings. Rizzi said she will attempt to schedule both afternoon and evening sessions in order to accommodate various schedules.
