Elderly Man Killed by Alleged Drugged Driver

Stoughton, MA - A senior Stoughton resident was killed Friday night while attempted to cross Route 27.

Michael Burns, 33, of Taunton, allegedly hit 71-year-old Joe Brady as he attempted to walk to his Christmas tree lot on Park Street, according to WBZ.

Brady was airlifted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Burns was arrested and charged with drugged driving. Evidence suggests that he was delivering pizzas at the time of the crash.

Burns is being held on $30,000 bail and will be arraigned Monday morning in Stoughton District Court.
