The Starline Academy for the Performing Arts presents "A Night of Drama" featuring the Broadway Legacy "My Gypsy Robe" written by Tim Kelly. Directed by Beth Reardon Academy Drama Instructor and presented by the Teen Drama Class.
Included in the class is Brenda Lambert, Samantha Langmead, Danielle Lerette, Caitlyn Cote, Madison Robasch all from Stoughton. From Canton is Kayla Mitchell and from Sharon is Sabrina Gamm.
As the story is told in the dressing room of a Broadway theatre, young performers prepare for their opening night. Broadway tradition dictates that a member from another show present a cast member with the Gypsy Robe, a costume decorated with souvenirs of previous musicals and shows. The robe is given to Amy, who is making her show biz debut. But Amy doesn't need the "magic" of the robe, so she passes it onto another actress, who undergoes a remarkable transformation. Is it a sudden change of heart or the influence of the robe? This is a fast-paced and intriguing "backstage" play.
