Steward Health Care Women's Health Expo

Women’s health will take center stage in a Steward Health Care exposition that will feature local physician specialists from across the healthcare spectrum including heart disease, diabetes, robotic surgery, cancer care and gynecology. Free health screenings will be provided, skin damage analysis and blood pressure reading.

 

The Steward Health Care Women’s Health Expo will be held Sept. 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Lombardo’s, 6 Billings St. Mary Richardson, Steward Health Care’s community liaison, and formerly of Chronicle, will be the evening’s host. The event will include free health screenings and talks on robotic assisted surgery for women’s health as well as other featured presentations. More than 15 physicians from Carney Hospital, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Norwood Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Quincy Medical Center will participate in the programs.

 “With all the advancements in healthcare at our community hospitals, many women may not realize the vast resources they have in their own backyards to take care of their health,” said Richardson. “Oftentimes women are so busy working and taking care of their families and loved ones they tend to put others’ needs before their own. This is a chance for them to do something for themselves and an opportunity to meet their doctors, some of whom might even be their neighbors, and to learn more about the world class care they can find in the communities where they live.”
