The Drake Letters from Stoughton to Strongsville, Ohio

Editor/author Sandee Lemasters will give a slide presentation on her book

The Drake Letters from Stoughton to Strongsville

at the Stoughton Historical Society, 6 Park Street at 2PM on Sunday, October 16.  These thirty-three letters, just published with the assistance of a grant from the Stoughton Cultural Council, were written by members of the Drake family in Stoughton, to Asa Drake who had emigrated to Ohio in 1821.  Mrs Lemasters, a Drake descendant from Ohio, whose extended family owns the letters, has added maps, photographs, genealogies and considerable commentary on Stoughton’s history, which provide a marvelous window into life in Stoughton between the Revolutionary War and 1850.   Copies will be available for purchase.  Free; light refreshments.  781 344 5456 or stoughtonhistoricalsociety@verizon.net
