The Revolution, the Railroad, and the Civil War

 “The Revolution, the Railroad, and the Civil War” - A Guided Tour of the Stoughton Historical Society Website – March 11 –2 PM  6 Park St.  Vice President and Webmaster David Allen Lambert will lead us through an online representative sample of the fascinating articles, lists and information on Veterans in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, newsletters,  photographs, maps, and reproductions of historical/souvenir booklets, and much more, now displayed on our greatly expanded website.

     Webmaster Lambert has since added many invaluable items including: a History of the Stoughton Railroad Station, which was compiled by Howard Hansen for the 100th Anniversary of the Station in 1988, Payers of poll taxes in 1911, property evaluations in 1850, the WWI Memorial Booklet, The History of the Congregational Church by Amy Fowler, Stoughton: Its beauties and Advantages1885, the Souvenir booklet from the 1926 Bi-Centennial, the Chicataubut Club Souvenir – Illustrated Book Stoughton, Mass. 1906 and many more past Newsletters.  

     This program will be preceded by a brief business meeting to vote on several changes in our by-laws.  Also available: “Memories of Glen Echo Park” a 24p booklet and new “A Map History of Glen Echo, York Pond and Ponkapoag Plantation Boundaries” with colored maps and commentary, showing early roads, settlers, deeds, and boundaries.  Free, light refreshments.  781 344 5456.
