I’ve been on a plateau again and even though the 3 Day Refresh worked (and I lost 5lbs), my body still isn’t the way I’d like it to be. I decided to try out the 2 Day Fast, brought to you by Team Beachbody. I heard really good things from a friend that did it and she lost 7lbs in two days. I thought, why not give it a shot.
Team Beachbody’s website says this fast will help me get rid of excess fat, will cleanse my body, help me reduce unhealthy cravings, give me a natural boost of energy and help me increase my weight loss from my regular routine. I was a little skeptical because I know that there is no magic pill and things don’t happen overnight. But...I still decided to give it a whirl.
I decided to start on a day when I knew I would be home and not have any plans on the calendar. This was one of the most important things for me because I have such a crazy life that I’m constantly on the move and never really know where I’m going to be or what I’m going to encounter. I chose the chocolate, because I’m a chocoholic.
The plan was 3 shakes a day with a cup of green tea in between each shake and water all day. I can do this, right?! Yes, I can totally do this!
On Day 1, I woke up feeling a little groggy (as I always do) and immediately started to go for the coffee. Coffee is something I have almost every morning and absolutely love, but you cannot have it during the 2 Day Fast. I made a cup for my husband and I thought the smell would drive me to give up on starting the fast, but it honestly didn’t. Mind over matter, I guess.
I had my first shake I made with water (as required) and ice and it tasted SO GOOD! Just like a tootsie roll!! Needless to say, I was happy. It took me awhile to drink it, which was good because it was satisfied and knew I could hold out until lunch time. I had my cup of green tea about 2hrs after having my first shake and that helped with holding me over until lunch. I did sneak a tiny piece of turkey jerky after my green tea.

I had my second shake about 2hrs after having my green tea and made it the same way. The chocolate still tasted good and I wasn’t bored of it yet and again, it satisfied my appetite. Again, I snuck a piece of turkey jerky, though. I’m used to a lot more calories so I felt like I had to add a bit more, even though the jerky is 60 calories a piece. My third shake came about 2hrs later and it satisfied me...until just before bed. That’s when I had about 10 blueberries. Needless to say, I was hungry.
On Day 2, I woke up hungry. Not hangry, but definitely hungry. About 30 minutes after waking up, I had my first shake. Chocolate was still good and I wasn’t bored of it. However, the green tea...I’m not a fan of. I never have been but I’ll drink it because I know it has great properties that help with digestion. And let me tell you, increasing my green tea intake has increased my frequency of using the bathroom.
I had my second shake about 3hrs later and in between I had two pieces of turkey jerky. I’m definitely learning that only having about 330 calories in the entire day is not for me. I need protein to keep me going. With my second shake, I had about 1/4 cup of tuna. I’m still feeling satisfied, but I also know my body needs more to keep going. My third shake I had a few hours later, maybe 3hrs and then hand more green tea. Now for dinner, I really felt like I needed more food/calories. I decided to have some pizza (whole grain crust, spinach, tomatoes and goat cheese) and my shake. Yes, it was WAY more calories than the fast calls for but my body was craving real food.

I know you’re dying to know what my results were. Well...I lost 4lbs and my pants fit way better so I know I lost a few inches (even though I didn’t measure). Would I do the 2 Day Fast again? I’m not so sure. It wasn’t enough calories for me so I don’t think so. Instead, I would do the Ultimate Reset or the 3 Day Refresh to get myself over that plateau. All in all, a good experience, though. If you want more specific information on the Fast, message me. I’d love to chat and help you decide if it’s right for you.
