Five Injured in Route 24 Crash in Stoughton

Police say a vehicle with eight occupants rolled over while on the highway.

STOUGHTON, MA — An early morning crash on Route 24 in Stoughton resulted in minor injuries to four people and serious injuries to one, state police said.

At about 3:10 a.m. Saturday, state police responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 24 South at exit 20 in Stoughton. A preliminary investigation indicates that a 24-year-old Brockton woman was traveling on Route 24 southbound in a Pontiac van when she lost control of the vehicle, causing it to rollover and crash., police said.

During the rollover, two occupants, a 24-year-old female and a 37-year-old female, both from Brockton, were ejected from the vehicle. Both were transported to Boston Medical Center, the former treated for serious injuries while the latter was treated for minor injuries. A 35-year-old man and a 23-year-old female, both of Brockton, were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver was treated for minor injuries at Boston Medical Center.

There were a total of eight people in the van, according to state police.

The state's Department of Transportation and emergency responders from Stoughton and Randolph assisted at the scene.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
