Take a look at photos of the Stoughton High girls' ice hockey team in a game vs. Newton North at the Devine Rink in Dorchester Jan. 24.

Stoughton lost 10-9 on a goal with 5.4 seconds left. The Lady Knights are 1-2-1 on the season.

This is the inaugural season for the Stoughton High girls' ice hockey team. The school committee and school administration backed the formation of the program last year, with the team competing at the junior varsity level this season.

The team is coached by Rich Grasso and assisted by Ed Gilbert.

Anna Russell and Alex Charette are the team's captains.

The 12 girls on the team and the coaches are working hard to lay the groundwork to establish this program for future girls' hockey players.
