Go Fund Me For Stoughton Teacher Who Had Car Go Through Her Roof

Christine Carter, a teacher in Stoughton was not home when a car sideswiped a pole, went airborne and through her roof.

STOUGHTON, MA — Friends and coworkers set up a Go Fund Me page for a Stoughton teacher whose Holbrook home was destroyed after a car went airborne and through her roof.

Christine Carter, a teacher at Jones Early Childhood Center, was not home when a Toyota Camry sideswiped a telephone pole, went airborne and crashed into the living room of her one-story Kingsley Street home. Significant structural damage has made the rebuild process hopeless, and Carter has been told the house needs to be torn down completely.

When Carter's friend Courtney Powers found out about the family's situation, she set up the Go Fund Me page with a $50,000 goal. So far, friends, family and coworkers have raised almost $6,000 in three days.

"Obviously this is unexpected and a devastating loss to the family," Powers said on the page. "Christine, Michelle, Brenna, and doggy Molly will need to relocate and replace many items, any help would be appreciated!"

As of Wednesday morning, no criminal charges have been filed in the crash. Nicole Ricci, 20, of Stoughton was killed in the crash, while two others were injured.
