Gunshot Fired At Stoughton Store Clerk: Suspect On The Loose

STOUGHTON, MA — Police are looking for an armed suspect they said tried to rob a convenient store and fired a gun at the store clerk.

Before midnight on Sunday, police said the suspect stormed in to the Quick Stop convenient store at 2139 Central Street. The suspect demanded the cashier empty the register, but the clerk refused.

The suspect then pistol whipped the store clerk and according to police, fired one round. Gunfire missed the clerk, and then the suspect ran away.

Stoughton Police Lieutenant John Bonney told Patch police conducted an exhaustive search of the area, but the suspect has not been found.

Police described the suspect as having a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark pants and had a red bandana covering his face.
