One of the oldest structures in Stoughton has been demolished.
Last week, the Glover House was razed, destroying what was believed to have been one of the three oldest structures in town, according to the Boston Globe.
Earlier this year, a demolition permit was issued for the home located at 480 Summer St. The Stoughton Historical Society and the local Historical Commission attempted to find an option for funding the preservation of the building, but the house did not qualify for state funds for preservation or protection.

The Historical Commission had reviewed the application for demolition and was able to delay destruction for six months before reaching an agreement that allowed the home’s owner to demolish the house if preservation funds could not be obtained by Dec. 31, 2014.
