Investigation Alleges Racial Slur, Threats From Stoughton Student

School officials say that the student yelled a racial slur at a black student and brandished a plastic knife at a dance.

STOUGHTON, MA — A sixth-grade student at the O'Donnell Middle School has been taken out of the class as school officials investigate accusations that he yelled a racial slur at a black student and brandished a plastic knife during a dance Friday night.

Stoughton Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi said Tuesday night that school officials stepped in immediately and the student has been removed from school for the duration of the investigation, according to reports.

Guidance councilors and school administrators will present the Second Step curriculum. The program helps students learn how to interact in a respectful way.
