About 1,300 Stoughton Homes Remain In The Dark

As expected, much progress was made in restoring power across Stoughton.

STOUGHTON, MA — Good news for about half of the homes without power, you have electricity again.

As of 11:15 a.m. Monday, 1,314 homes in Stoughton do not have power, according to the National Grid outage map. That's down from earlier figures which indicated that half the town was in the dark. The estimated restoration time is March 6, 11:59 p.m., which is the same time given to all National Grid outages in the area.

An update from the Stoughton Emergency Management Agency stated that resident should see an increase in power restoration Sunday into Monday. West Stoughton was expected to have power back Sunday night, according to Stoughton Fire.

National Grid is bringing in more crews to assist in Stoughton, according to the Stoughton Emergency Management Agency.

Due to the remaining outages, the Stoughton Public Schools will be closed Monday.

The Stoughton Senior Center on Rockland Street will be open as a warming center from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday.
