Man Brought Gun To Confront Group In Stoughton Parking Lot: Cops

Police say Kristopher Pierce was at the lot to confront a group he said was going to hurt his daughter.

STOUGHTON, MA — An East Bridgewater man had a gun on him but not a valid license to carry, police said.

Kristopher Pierce, 52, was arrested Wednesday and charged with three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and disturbing the peace while armed, according to the Stoughton Police Department.

Police received a report of a man with a gun at the Stop and Shop parking lot on Washington Street at about 8:52 p.m. Wednesday night, Officers at the scene located Pierce, who was frisked for weapons. Police say they found a loaded Smith & Wesson Bodyguard and an expired firearms license.

Police later learned that Pierce allegedly went to the lot to confront individuals he said were going to hurt his daughter. Witnesses told police that Pierce had the gun when he attempted to get the group to get out of their car.

No injuries were reported.

East Bridgewater Police seized the remaining guns from his home.

Pierce was held overnight on $5,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.
