Man With Knife Shot by Stoughton Police Officer

An officer shot the suspect after he came towards him with a knife.

One man has been shot by a Stoughton police officer after a foot chase.

Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany said the man was shot after he came towards the officer with a knife after the chase on Central Street and Buckley Road around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday according to WCVB.

FOX 25 reports that the officer was taken to Norwood Hospital for chest pains while the suspect was transported to Boston Medical Center. The man who was shot is expected to survive according to the DA’s office.
