The proposed line is slated to use the Stoughton line but alternatives are on the table.

STOUGHTON, MA — Residents who would like to speak with the MBTA and the state's Department of Transportation will have their say in September.

MassDOT and the MBTA recently announced a series of public meetings beginning next month on the proposed restoration of passenger rail service between the South Coast and Boston. The current proposal has the line going through Stoughton, with the design 15 percent completed.
