More Anti-Semitic Incidents Reported At Stoughton Schools

School officials confirmed two more incidents at the high and middle schools.

STOUGHTON, MA — The day after school officials and the public address two November incidents involving swastikas, two more incidents have been made public.

In a letter to parent, Stoughton High School Juliette Miller confirmed that a student stood up in class and made an offensive comment and gesture in reference to Adolph Hitler. According to Miller, the impacted class was a small one within their separate education programs.

"Administration was notified quickly and took immediate action to address the upsetting and offensive incident," Miller wrote.

Stoughton police have been notified of the incident and all students who witnessed it were counseled.

"We do not tolerate any language, gesture or symbol that is offensive or hateful. We value, uphold, and enforce the ideas of 'No Pace for Hate'. We continue to work with our resources and community members to provide a physically and emotionally save educational environment," Miller wrote.

At the O'Donnell Middle School, one student used hateful and anti-Semitic language towards another student, according to a letter to parents by Principal Matthew Colantonio,

"This type of offense is a violation of our anti-harassment policy, a Type IV offense, the most serious in the school, and will not be tolerated," Colantonio said.

The student has been disciplined, according to Colantonio.

The response is a swift reversal from the school district's reaction towards two November incidents where students were disciplined for making Swastikas. School officials have cited privacy concerns as the reason for remaining quiet.
