Multiple Options for Stoughton High School Project

The Stoughton High School Building Committee is focusing on multiple options for the renovation or construction of Stoughton High School.

There where be multiple options for the future of Stoughton High School when preliminary plans for the high school are sent to the Massachusetts School Buildings association later this year.

Going over some of the possible plans at a recent meeting, the Stoughton High School Building Committee looked at many possibilities that could happen at the school’s Pearl Street location.

Four options for renovation include demolishing the “A” building and gym with each option providing various among of new construction. The most extreme scenarios would see the entire building demolished except the auditorium and cafeteria, which would be renovated.

A pure renovation of the building with only base repairs and no additions or construction is possible but may not qualify for MSBA funds.

The MSBA may want to see more certainty when the preliminary design is submitted in September. During the meeting, it was noted that the group prefers to see designs as early as possible.
