UPDATE: Stoughton Power Returns For 5,000

STOUGHTON, MA – Nearly 5,000 residences were without power Tuesday afternoon.

Per the National Grid outage map, 4,981 customers lost electricity. About 39 percent of the town was impacted by the blackout.

As of 4:40 p.m., 1,490 customers were in the dark and have since had power restored.

The Stoughton Emergency Management Agency said the outages were located on Campanelli Parkway, Shuman Avenue, Benson Road, and Daly Drive extension.

Power at Stoughton High School, O'Donnell Middle School, Hansen Elementary School, and West Elementary School was lost as well. Due to the outage, there were be no after school activities.
