Neighbors Foil Home Break-In Attempt: Stoughton Police
Men from Mansfield, Norton, and Boston were accused of trying to break-in to a Stoughton home.

STOUGHTON, MA — A burglary attempt was thwarted on Monday morning after a neighbor noticed something was off and decided to call the police, Stoughton Police Lt. John Bonney said.
Olivio Leverone, 31, of Norton, Jeffrey Vincente, 30, of Mansfield, and Jarrid Brewer, 30, of Boston, were charged with attempting to commit a crime (breaking and entering), possession of burglarious tools and conspiracy. The suspect are being held without bail, pending a dangerousness hearing on March 5.
Stoughton police were called to Ash Street around 11:30 a.m., on Monday after a neighbor said the there was a possible home break-in about to happen next door. The woman told police she saw two of the men coming from a suspicious car put on latex gloves and enter the backyard of her neighbor, Bonney said.

Police arrived shortly after and pulled over a blue sedan, which matched the neighbor's description. Leverone was the only one in the vehicle, according to police. Bonney said officers found gloves, a collapsible police baton, and handcuffs inside the car. Leverone was then taken into custody.
A witness told officers they saw two men running down Route 27 toward Brockton. One of the men was wearing a gray sweatshirt, which matched the initial description the neighbor gave police, Bonney said. Vincente and Brewer were found by police at a nearby medical building. Officers, along with a police dog from Quincy Police tracked footprints from the house.

"All three denied knowing each other," Bonney said.
However, police said the the car Leverone was driving belonged to Vincente.
The Quincy police canine was called in to search for a gun officers thought one of the suspects might have ditched in the woods. No gun was found, but police said they did find a pry bar.
The three suspects were arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty.
