New Stats: Opioid Deaths in Stoughton Flat

The state's Department of Public Health has released new data.

STOUGHTON, MA - The state's Department of Public Health has released new data on deaths caused by opioid overdoses.

During 2015, Stoughton had 10 confirmed death caused by an opioid overdose, the same as 2014. In 2013, there were seven deaths.

In Norfolk County, deaths have increased from 124 in 2014 to 144 last year. Since 2000, there have been an estimated 976 deaths from opioids.

Middlesex County has seen the most deaths on a county level with 293 last year and 1,966 since 2000.

The data doesn't include the amount of Narcan used or the number of overdoses reversed through using the life-saving medicine.
