No Bail for Stoughton Murder Suspect

Keenan Brasfield has been ordered held without bail.

STOUGHTON, MA - The suspect in a fatal stabbing that took place in Stoughton has been ordered held without bail.

Keenan Brasfield, 24, pleaded not guilty to one count of murder during his arraignment Monday morning in Stoughton District Court. He is accused of killing Stoughton resident Erwins Albert.

According to a police report read in court by Assistant District Attorney Carolyn Hely, police received a report of a fight on Canton Street at about 3:45 p.m. on May 6. When police arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive Albert who was suffering from an apparent chest wound, with blood on his chest and legs.

Albert was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses told police that they saw a tow truck with a car attached, followed by two more cars that drove behind the truck. Brasfield allegedly got out of one of the vehicles and Albert got out of another vehicle. The two allegedly had an argument over the content of what was in the trunk of the towed car. Brasfield allegedly said, "You didn't know I got the hock," before stabbing the victim and fleeing the scene on foot.

Witnesses at the scene were able to identify Brasfield as the suspect. He turned himself into police Sunday night.

Brasfield is scheduled to return to court on June 3 for a probable cause hearing.
