‘No First Time’ Addiction Education and Awareness Program Held at Stoughton High School
Local program designed to address opioid epidemic that President calls "a national public health emergency"

Local parents recently attended the ‘No First Time’ program at Stoughton High School. ‘No First Time’ was founded by Stephanie and John Greene of Easton who three years ago lost their son Evan to an opiate overdose. These sessions bring together members of the community interested in supporting initiatives and policies related to the battle against addiction. Speaker John Fanning, a Mass. State Trooper and Drug Recognition Expert, said there are 6 fatal overdoses per day in the state, and “Not only are people continuing to abuse drugs, the drugs are stronger and more deadly.” To date, ‘No First Time’ has held presentations in over 30 schools and other venues, educating young people on the danger of experimenting with drugs.
At the recent program are (left to right): Patty Gorman, Stoughton Schools Parent Liaison; State Trooper and No First Time co-founder John Fanning; Patrick Cronin, in long-term recovery and Director of Business Development for the Northeast Addictions Treatment Center of Quincy; Stephanie Greene and John Greene, Co-Founders of The Evan Foundation/No First Time; and Jeffrey Wolff, Stoughton Public Schools Parent Engagement Coordinator.
