Stoughton Obituary: Mary (Smith) Eichorn

Mary M. (Smith) Eichorn, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, passed away June 2 at the age of 96.

Mary M. (Smith) Eichorn, 96, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Sunday, June 2. She was the wife of the late George E. Eichorn.

Born in Stoughton, she was a graduate of Stoughton High School.

Mrs. Eichorn was a stitcher at several area businesses, including Cable Raincoats in Stoughton. She worked for 50 years before retiring 31 years ago. She was a member of the Mass. Women's Guild at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and the Stoughton Historical Society.

Mrs. Eichorn was the mother of Barbara J. Cunningham of Stoughton and the late George E. Eichorn. She was the grandmother of David and Brian Cunningham. She was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton on Wednesday, June 5, at 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at noon. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Mary's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or www.cancer.org.
