OMS Students Nominated for JFK Make a Difference Award
O'Donnell Middle School eighth grader Mikalya Berteletti and OMS seventh grader Rebecca McSweeney are the nominees for an award which recognizes community service.
Two students at the have been nominated for the JFK Make a Difference Award, according to school officials.
The award, named for President John F. Kennedy, “is given to students who are nominated by teachers, principals and other community leaders for contributions they have made to their neighborhood, town or community,” according to the JFK Library website.
Eighth grader Mikalya Berteletti and seventh grader Rebecca McSweeney are the O’Donnell Middle School’s nominees.

According to the JFK Library webstie, “this year the Kennedy Library will recognize up to 100 middle school students from across Massachusetts for the difference they have made in their communities through service projects.”
The 2012 Award Ceremony will be held March 15 at the Kennedy Library in Boston.

Other OMS students considered for nomination included: Alex Barros, Janelle Gibson, Katie Gover, Caitlin Jung and Elizabeth Slade.
