Planning Board Approves Site Plan for Sonic

After four months of meetings, the proposed Sonic Drive-in on Washington Street will become a reality next year.

Last week, the planning board approved the site plan according to the Enterprise. The restaurant will be constructed at the site of the former Friendly’s.

The weeks worth of meetings were mainly due to concerns from the board pertaining to traffic and landscaping. By the end, the board said their questions were answered sand they were satisfied with the plan.

The Sonic will be the fourth in the state but the first south of Boston. Six months of construction is expected with the opening planned for between May and June.
