Police Chief Rams Stoughton Man's Getaway Car to End Chase

Attleboro Police Chief Kyle Heagney chased a Stoughton and Easton man through three towns.

ATTLEBORO, MA — Attleboro’s police chief took matters into his own hands Monday afternoon—chasing two bank robbery suspects through three towns and ramming them to bring things to a peaceful end.

It all started when two suspects tried to rob Rockland Trust on Pleasant Street.

Attleboro Police Chief Kyle Heagney pursued the two suspects through Attleboro, Norton, and Taunton. Taunton Police Chief James Walsh deployed stop sticks—which the suspect’s vehicle hit and slowed down. Heagney then rammed the car to bring the chase to an end.

“I still like to keep my hand in the action,” Heagney told the Sun Chronicle.

The suspects are an 18-year-old Stoughton man and a 32-year-old Easton man, according to the Sun Chronicle.



Heagney, by the way, also coached Norton High School’s varsity hockey team from 2013 to 2015. He made headlines in October when he published a list of more than 200 wanted individuals on the department’s social media channels.
