RANDOLPH, MA — A police cruiser was struck while officers responded to a report of a loud house party.

Luis Baez, 21, of Brockton, was arrested and charged with assault and hindering a firefighter. The owner of the home, Manuel Andrade Jr., 37, of Randolph, was arrested and charged with keeping a disorderly home.

While at the scene, a Mercedes C260 crashed into the back of a police vehicle parked on the street. Police say the force of the crash caused the cruiser to launch forward into the back of another Randolph cruiser parked on the street. Both cruisers were parked on the east side of North Street and were unoccupied at the time.

The driver and lone occupant, a 30-year-old Brockton woman, was taken to a nearby hospital. While firefighters were giving aid to the woman, her boyfriend, identified as Baez, allegedly acted in an aggressive manner and interfered with the medical evaluation. He was taken into custody shortly afterwards.
