Police Log: Shoplifting, Forgery, and More

The following is from the Stoughton Police Log. Where arrests and charges are mentioned, they do not imply conviction.

January 9

2:33 a.m. - A structure fire was reported on Canton Street. The street was closed to other side of the fire while Stoughton Fire extinguished the fire.

11:18 a.m. - A 41-year-old woman at the Stoughton Motel on Washington Street was placed in protective custody for resisting arrest and interfering with the duties of the police.

3:46 p.m. - Amanda Conant, 28, of Beverly, was arrested at Stop and Shop on Washington Street and charged with larceny over $250.

4:07 p.m. - A summons was issued to a 23-year-old male from Brockton on Jackson Court for larceny under $250, uttering a false check, and two counts of forgery of check.

January 10

1:44 p.m. - A caller on Pearl Street stated that she has an office on the second floor of a building and someone was coming up the fire escape. She stated the same thing happened last week. The person coming up the fire escape was located and advised not to return.
