Randolph Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested
A Mattapan man wanted for an alleged shooting in Randolph was taken into custody Tuesday morning.

RANDOLPH, MA — A Mattapan man wanted for an alleged shooting in Randolph was taken into custody Tuesday morning.
Angel Ortiz, 22, was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of discharging a firearm, attempted assault and battery by means of discharging a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, according to the Randolph Police Department.
On Oct. 23, police responded to a report of a shooting on Alfred Terrace. At the scene, officers found a 19-year-old Randolph man who had been shot and suffered injuries that were considered serious but not life-threatening, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the victim had been shot while riding in a vehicle, and a more in-depth investigation led Randolph Police to identify Ortiz as the suspect.
Ortiz is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
