Randolph Teen Charged In Boston Shooting
Victor Swain Jr., 18, was arrested following a brief standoff on Drayton Street in Dorchester.

BOSTON, MA — A Randolph teen has been arrested and charged with shooting a person over the weekend.
Victor Swain Jr., 18, was arrested Tuesday following a brief standoff on Drayton Street in Dorchester. He faces two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and several firearms charges, according to the Boston Police Department.
“I’m troubled that a mother and her young child were injured in this senseless act of violence. No one should be a victim of an incident like this, and I commend my officers for making such a quick identification and arrest of the suspect. Hopefully, the community will rest easier knowing that this reckless and dangerous individual is off the street,” Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said in a release.

Police responded to a report of a shooting on Washington Street at about 9:50 p.m. Saturday night. Police found a 22-year-old woman suffering from a graze wound to her head and her three-year-old child, who suffered minor injuries from broken glass. Police say the two were leaving a nearby business were entering their car when the shooting occurred.
Both were taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
