School Committee Candidate Drops Out
Former committee member Erdem "Doc" Ural announced Tuesday morning that he won't run for election.

STOUGHTON, MA — One candidate in the race for school committee has withdrawn his name from consideration.
Former committee member Erdem "Doc" Ural announced Tuesday morning that he won't run for election. Ural has been on the ballot for the past few years but cited the state of Stoughton politics as his reason for dropping out.
I see strong indicators that April election will be a retake of this ugliness for the Selectmen as well as the School Committee races. I am pulling out this year because I want to protect my supporters and family from the toxic political environment in Stoughton," Ural wrote in a statement. "I am grateful to all my supporters and to the residents who signed my nomination papers. Even though I will not get on the School Committee this year, I will continue to work hard advocating for the best interest of our children and our Town."
