School Committee Starts Thinking About New Superintendent

Stoughton Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi confirmed last week that she will leave the Stoughton Public Schools in 2019.

STOUGHTON, MA — Stoughton Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi has her end date and it will come at the end of next year.

Rizzi confirmed at last week's school committee meeting that she will leave the Stoughton Public Schools at the end of the 2018-19 school year. During a discussion on the superintendent search, she called for a planned transition with plenty of lead time.

Chairperson Molly Cochran said she spoke with the Massachusetts Association of School Committee about a potential timeline. The earliest the search process would start is September and the committee would like to have a search committee by November. By March 2019, the committee hopes to have three finalists in front of them and contract negotiations with the candidate selected to be the next superintendent.
