Sharon Woman Found Guilty of Killing Stoughton Resident
Karen Blau, 47, was found guilty of motor vehicle manslaughter while intoxicated for striking and killing a pregnant woman in Stoughton.

A Sharon woman accused of killing a woman with her vehicle has been found guilty of motor vehicle manslaughter while intoxicated for striking and killing a pregnant woman on a Stoughton street.
Karen Blau, 47, was convicted on Wednesday of manslaughter and reckless endangerment of a child according to a press release from the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office.
On July 23, 2013, Joanne White, the woman killed in the incident, was walking down Lincoln Street in Stoughton at around 8:45 p.m. when Blau’s car came barreling up on the sidewalk, hitting White before coming to a rest against a tree.

White’s 11-year-old son, who was with her at the time, was not injured.
Blau will be sentenced at 11 a.m. on Nov. 21. She faces a minimum mandatory sentence of five years with a maximum penalty of 20 years in a state prison.
