Stoughton Athlete to Race in Elite Mile at Falmouth Road Race
Dan Romano and Julie Romano have both been invited to race in the Tommy Cochary High School Mile as part of the Falmouth Road Race.

A Stoughton distance runner will be among 20 athletes who will face off in the Tommy Cochary High School Mile as part of this weekend’s activities for the Falmouth Road Race.
David Lockhart has been invited to the elite race, which includes some of the best high school runners in the area.
A recent Stoughton graduate, Lockhart won the 800 at the Hockomock League Championship and MIAA Division 3 East meets with a time of 1:55.67 and 1:55.85. He also finished sixth at the MIAA All-State meet, qualifying for the New England Championship meet.

High school students in Massachusetts and 2015 graduates are qualified to apply for the race. During the application process, 10 boys and 10 girls are chosen to partake in the race..
The winners of both the boys’ and girls’ miles will have a grant of $2,500 awarded to their school in their name to be used in a way that implements change in athletics or wellness, such as new equipment, team uniforms, or after-school wellness activities according to a press release.
