STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton couple faces charges after police allegedly found drugs in a vehicle and the home where their kids live.
Edwin Saladin, 27, and Jacqueline Omara, 32 were both arraigned Wednesday in Stoughton District Court. Saladin was charged with trafficking cocaine and crack cocaine, possession of heroin and oxycodone with intent to distribute, child endangerment, and conspiracy to violate drug law. The arrests came after a months-long investigation and surveillance on Saladin, according to a police report read in court. On Tuesday, officers from the Stoughton Police Department, state police, and Drug Enforcement Agency's New Bedford location executed a search warrant on Saladin vehicle. Inside, police say they found a number of items including an iPhone, Samsung phone, $1,049 in cash, sandwich bag, two plastic containers, and pill bottles. In the containers and bottles, were heroin and cocaine and Saladin allegedly had oxycodone on him.

Defense attorneys for the two said Saladin has ties to the area and is a 2009 graduate of Stoughton High School. As a member of the basketball team, he was named a Hockomock League All-Star.
Omara's attorney said she was confident that her client will be vindicated at trial, telling the court that officers told her that she was not the target of the search when they arrived at the house. She added that the vehicle Saladin was found in does not belong to Omara.
Both are due back in court July 25.
