Stoughton Gym Suspect to be Arraigned Tuesday

A Fall River man accused of stealing items from a Stoughton gym will be in court Tuesday.
John Root, 38, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning in Stoughton District Court according to the Enterprise. He is charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, larceny over $250, credit card fraud over $250, identity theft and uttering false documents.
According to police, Root allegedly entered the gym, asked to fill out a membership form, walked down the hall to assumingly fill out the forms, and headed into the locker room to find an open locker.

Once he found an open locker, he took a pair of keys and took credit cards from the victim’s vehicle.
The owner of the fitness center said Root was never in the building according to surveillance footage.

Root and his half-brother John Fisher were also charged in a similar crime in Norwood and several other communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
