STOUGHTON, MA - The Stoughton High School project could clear a very important hurdle Monday night at the Annual Town Meeting.
Article 1 will ask the town to appropriate the funds needed to construct a new high school. The warrant article asks the town to appropriate $123,760,000 with the understanding that the town will pay for $71 million and the state will cover about $55 million.

The School Committee, Board of Selectmen, and Finance Committee have all endorsed the project.
Last year, the committee voted to go forward a proposal that would see the town build a new school. According to the presentation, construction would be a two-phase project that would also see a new track/soccer field and football field.
