Stoughton High School Dropout Rate On the Decline
The school saw a slight decline in the rate.

STOUGHTON, MA — The dropout rate at Stoughton High School took a dip in 2016, according to data from the state's Department of Education.
Last year, 1.4 percent of Stoughton High School's 1,039 students left before completing their education. The number is slightly down from 2014-15's 1.5 percent and continues a downward trend that has seen the number go down since a high of 2.8 percent in 2009, according to data going back to that year.
Across the grades, 0.7 percent of freshmen dropped out, as did 1.6 percent of sophomores, 1.7 percent of juniors, and 2.0 percent of seniors.

Statewide, 5,523 students chose to drop out of high school, or about 1.9 percent of Massachusetts students.
