Stoughton Library Opening This Weekend
The $14 million facility has a little bit of every thing for kids of all ages and also adults.

STOUGHTON, MA — Nineteen months ago, the old Stoughton Library was demolished so the town could build a new one.
The library has existed at temporary spaces for over a year now but starting Saturday, it will have a place to call home again — a rather extravagant home. This Saturday's grand opening begins at 2 p.m.
The $14 million facility has a little bit of every thing for kids of all ages and also adults. With a 200-person community space, a game corner, historical preservation room, three quiet study rooms and a larger study room, there really is something for everyone. Library Director Pat Basler has said both students and small businesses could benefit from the study rooms.

"Small businesses could use study rooms to interview people. They just have to reserve them," Basler said at a Friends of Stoughton Center meeting this past June.
The library was originally expected to open in late October, but construction took longer than Basler hoped, she told the Brockton Enterprise. Basler told Patch the project stayed under budget despite the construction delays.

Anyone that needs a computer, archived newspaper or magazine can still access the library's collection at the Randolph Savings Ban before Saturday. Books won't be available until Saturday.
